上句問：外道有六節為師。又云：西域兩月為時，年分六節。次句問：一闡提。如下，一闡提中別答。次句問：黃門男女，如《正法念經》所明。

The first line asks about the non-Buddhists having six periods as their guides. It also means that in the Western Regions two months make a season, dividing the year into six periods. The next line asks about icchantikas; this is answered separately below under icchantikas. The following line asks about eunuchs (paṇḍaka), women, and men, as explained in the Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna-sūtra.
