3.18

此明牒破彼外道見。文有八句，上四句破起見因，下四句示唯妄現，故伽陀云「知諸法唯心，便捨外塵相，由此息分別，悟平等真空。」思之可了。

This clarifies the sequential refutation of those non-Buddhist views. The text has eight lines: the upper four lines refute the cause of generating views; the lower four lines demonstrate that they are only delusive manifestations. Therefore the gāthā says: 'Knowing that all dharmas are mind-only, / one immediately abandons the marks of external dusts; / thereby discrimination ceases, / and one awakens to the equal, true emptiness.' By reflecting on this it can be understood.
