In order to benefit sentient beings and cause the lineage of the Buddha not to be interrupted, in accordance with the good roots of sentient beings, he reflects and manifests various form bodies. Just as relying on dependent origination false conceptualization arises, this is used as an analogy for the Tathāgata arising relying on the good roots of sentient beings. Just as a mani jewel has no intention yet transforms in accordance with colors, this is used as an analogy for the Tathāgata having no deliberate mentation, being able to transform in accordance with the size of the water of the minds of sentient beings' good roots. It is also like a mani jewel changing according to objects, which is an analogy for the Tathāgata manifesting and adopting buddha lands in accordance with sentient beings' good roots, where great assemblies gather and he expounds the Dharma in their midst; and the phenomena he expounds are unreal, like illusions and dreams. Bodhisattvas, having known that all phenomena are like illusions, leave behind views of arising, perishing, annihilation, and permanence, and also leave behind the śrāvakas' and pratyekabuddhas' views of individual and common characteristics.
