二約聲聞所證聖智，以明正智義。因上勸菩薩修自證聖智境界相，然聲聞亦有自證聖智境界相。欲簡異聲聞，故舉聲聞有二種差別相。初自證聖智異彼外道，故云殊勝。

Second, based on the noble wisdom realized by śrāvakas, he clarifies the meaning of right knowledge. Because he previously encouraged bodhisattvas to cultivate the realm and marks of noble wisdom of personal realization, yet śrāvakas also have the realm and marks of noble wisdom of personal realization. Wishing to distinguish them from śrāvakas, he presents the two kinds of distinct marks of śrāvakas. First, because their noble wisdom of personal realization differs from those non-Buddhists, it is called 'extraordinary'.
