Language
Classical Chinese

4.206

Just as with the water of the Ganges, which hungry ghosts see as fire—seeing fire where there is no fire is seeing what other healthy people do not see. This is a metaphor for fools seeing illusion where there is no illusion, which is seeing what other noble ones do not see. Therefore, all noble ones are free from inverted views of existence and non-existence regarding illusory phenomena.
