非幻與妄惑為因，以幻不實，不起過惡及分別故。若起諸過生分別者，是則為因，故非與餘妄作因。
[The commentary says:] Illusions do not act as causes for erroneous delusions, because illusions are unreal, and they do not give rise to faults and vices, nor to conceptual construction. If they gave rise to faults and generated conceptual construction, then they would act as causes; hence they do not act as causes for other errors.
