5.160

如二乘外道修觀行者，若作青想觀時，天地萬物莫不皆青，赤黃白等亦復如是。元無青處，正作青想，即是青也，即是無青處見青。以譬凡夫外道，妄見有無生死諸法，亦是無生死諸法處妄見有也，故言妄計相如是。

Just as when practitioners of contemplative meditation among the two vehicles and heterodox traditions perform the blue meditation, heaven, earth, and all things are nothing but blue, and red, yellow, white, etc., are also like this: where originally there is no blue, right when they make the conception of blue, it appears blue—that is, seeing blue where there is no blue. This is an analogy for commoners and heterodox non-Buddhists who falsely see the dharmas of existence, non-existence, and saṃsāra; they also falsely see existence where there are no dharmas of saṃsāra. Therefore it is said: 'The mark of false construction is like this.'
