This clarifies that bodhisattvas from the first bhūmi up to the seventh bhūmi must enter dhyāna samāpatti before they can manifest various bodies, reaching everywhere according to their intention without obstruction. Saying that when entering the samāpatti of the bliss of samādhi, they are free from all false thoughts and are quiescent and motionless; the ocean of the mind is ever peaceful without raising waves of consciousness; they know that all realms are only manifestations of their own minds, originally having no existence. Therefore it is named the mind-made body of the samāpatti of the bliss of samādhi. The sūtra compiler preferred brevity, citing the middle three grounds to encompass the preceding and succeeding, in order to clarify the seven grounds.
