This means that an eighth-bhūmi bodhisattva awakens to all phenomena as being like illusions and dreams; without needing to enter samādhi, they can manifest various bodies just as if born of the mind. Because they are like an illusion, the mind transforms what it relies upon, dwelling in the kings of samādhi such as the illusion-like samādhi and other immeasurable samādhis, able to manifest sovereign supernatural powers, swift according to intention and the like; not being formed of the four great elements, their appearance nevertheless resembles what is formed of the four great elements. With all forms, fully adorned with various limbs, they universally enter Buddha-kṣetras to transform sentient beings, penetrating that the nature of all phenomena is unreal like illusions and dreams; therefore, this is named the mind-made body awakening to the intrinsic nature of phenomena.
