5.247

This clarifies that because of failing to awaken to the fact that the specific and common characteristics of the five aggregates and all dharmas are unreal false manifestations of one's own mind, one falsely posits an eight-consciousness body, where there is then the parikalpa of perceiving various objects; that which perceives objects is called the Buddha, and relying on it defilement arises, hence it is also called blood. Using the three uncontaminated wisdoms of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness to sever the defilement of false awareness of those eight consciousnesses is called shedding the Buddha's blood with an evil mind.
