5.44

言阿羅漢修行四禪及三三昧，了八解脫、分證十力，三明六通皆已成就，煩惱發業所招諸苦妄想永滅，是故名阿羅漢。

This means that the arhat cultivates the four dhyānas and the three samādhis, comprehends the eight liberations, partially realizes the ten powers, and has already accomplished the three vidyās and the six abhijñās; the false discriminations of the various sufferings provoked by the karmic instigation of afflictions are permanently extinguished. Therefore they are called an arhat.
