5.74

言識者，即上五陰中妄識也，由迷真心而成，以執著種種言說境界為親起因故。作業受生，於諸趣中相續不斷。當知內身外境，四大五陰，但是分別心量所現。

"Consciousness" refers to the deluded consciousness among the five skandhas mentioned above. It is formed through delusion regarding the true mind, having attachment to various verbalized cognitive objects as its immediate cause. Creating karma and undergoing birth, it continues uninterruptedly across the various destinies. One should know that the internal body and external objects, the four great elements and the five skandhas, are merely manifestations of the discriminating cittamatra.
