大慧因上偈言大種及諸根，中有漸次生，即是深密執著義。既有密執，亦應有斷。密執得解脫故。舉深密執著義，反解脫義相以請問。一本作「一切法相續義，解脫義」。

Mahāmati, based on the previous verse stating that the great elements, faculties, and gradual arising in intermediate existence are indeed the meaning of profound and hidden attachment—since there is hidden attachment, there must also be its severing, so that by cutting off hidden attachment liberation is attained—raises the meaning of profound and hidden attachment and contrasts it with the characteristics of the meaning of liberation to ask his question. One version has: 'the meaning of the continuity of all dharmas, and the meaning of liberation.'
