6.252

由渴愛故，無水處妄作水想，以譬愚夫由癡愛故，無生滅有無處，妄作生滅有無想。此四偈頌上大慧假立五種難也。

Due to thirst and craving, where there is no water, one falsely forms the notion of water, which illustrates that the foolish, due to delusion and craving, where there is no arising, ceasing, existence, or non-existence, falsely form notions of arising, ceasing, existence, and non-existence. These four verses summarize the preceding five objections provisionally raised by Mahāmati.
