注大乘入楞伽經 7.12

大慧因上佛言三世如來有二種法：謂言說法及如實法。即是有言說，故舉佛昔說盧迦耶陀呪術詞論不應親近，請問如來。此教既有言說，彼教何故作如是說也？盧迦耶陀，未尋正譯，即外道論師也。

Following the Buddha's preceding statement that the Tathāgatas of the three periods have two kinds of Dharma, namely the verbal teaching and the true Dharma—which implies there is verbal teaching—Mahāmati cites the Buddha's past teaching that Lokāyata mantras and disputations should not be approached, and asks the Tathāgata: Since this teaching has words, why did that teaching speak thus? Lokāyata: awaiting an exact translation, it refers to the heterodox masters of disputation.
