This clarifies that when a bodhisattva in his final birth has attained the supreme and wondrous state, having emerged from hindrances in perfect clarity, he is able, throughout future time, to transform sentient beings by the power of the ten masteries, causing them to awaken to the real because it is free from letters; thus one should not give rise to attachments as described above. As for the ten masteries: the first is mastery over life, because one's lifespan is lengthened or shortened to respond to beings; mastery over mind, wealth, karma, birth, aspiration, faith, suchness, knowledge, and Dharma are also like this. They are fully explained in the Avataṃsaka [Sūtra].
