凡夫不能了諸妄緣，是故長劫為之鉤銷連環不斷，故目因緣名鉤鎖也。若離妄緣，無別生法。
Ordinary beings are unable to comprehend the various false conditions, and are therefore continually bound by them through unbroken links for long kalpas; hence causes and conditions are designated as an interlocking chain. Apart from false conditions, there is no other produced phenomenon.
