問：言說宗趣二義前文已明，今此再說豈非重繁乎？答：前約三乘，此約一乘。又前即先宗後說，此則先說後宗，機感有殊，故非重也。

Question: The two meanings of verbal teaching and doctrine were already explained previously; why repeat them here—is this not redundant? Answer: Previously it was in terms of the three vehicles; here it is in terms of the one vehicle. Furthermore, previously the doctrine came first and the teaching followed; here the teaching comes first and the doctrine follows. The capacities and responses differ, so it is not redundant.
