三牒釋破第五無常。言「於非常非無常處，外道不了，計謂無常」，是自生妄想也。「其義云何」下，徵釋譬喻彼妄計義，如經自明。

Third, [the text] cites and explains the refutation of the fifth impermanence. The statement "where there is neither permanence nor impermanence, non-Buddhists fail to understand and impute it to be impermanence" means they generate parikalpa on their own. From "What is the meaning of this?" onward, it queries and explains by using a simile for that falsely imputed meaning, as the sūtra itself makes clear.
