注大乘入楞伽經 8.158

8.158

言三世如來過世間望，非譬所譬，不可比恒河。故《華嚴》云「三界有無一切法，不能與佛為譬喻。」

This means that the Tathāgatas of the three periods of time transcend worldly perspectives; they cannot be compared by metaphors and cannot be likened to the Gaṅgā. Thus the Avataṃsaka says: "All phenomena, existent or non-existent in the three realms, cannot serve as a metaphor for the Buddha."
