8.21
If one imputes that the nature of the impermanence of an entity permanently abides within all dharmas and can effect the existence, non-existence, arising, and ceasing of dharmas, then since it abides within dharmas, it should be like dharmas, falling into the three times and both being destroyed. When its own substance does not exist, how could it cause entities to be impermanent? All non-Buddhists falsely impute that the substance of the great elements does not disintegrate, claiming that derived form disintegrates. Form exists as the distinct combination of the great elements; being neither different nor non-different [from them], the intrinsic nature of that form also does not disintegrate.
