9.158

問：若爾，何故多人同處同時皆同於有處見有、無處見無、有時見有、無時見無耶？答：譬如百千餓鬼同依業力，皆於無膿血、猛火等處同時而見。豈清河流水實有猛火耶？故云無境，但是心識。

Question: If so, why do many people in the same place and at the same time all together see existence where it exists, see non-existence where it does not exist, see existence when it exists, and see non-existence when it does not exist?

Answer: For example, hundreds of thousands of hungry ghosts, depending on identical karmic power, all simultaneously see [pus and fire] where there is neither pus, blood, nor fierce fire. Could it be that the flowing water of a clear river truly contains fierce fire? Therefore it is said that there is no objective realm, but only mind and consciousness.
