9.82

葱等五辛臭惡不淨，生噉生瞋、熟食發婬、酒亂靜性，損眾善、生諸惡，是故辛酒俱障善業。

The five pungent roots such as onions are foul and impure; eaten raw they produce anger, eaten cooked they generate lust; alcohol deranges the tranquil nature, damages all goods, and produces all evils; therefore pungent roots and alcohol both obstruct wholesome karma.
