This means that pariniṣpannasvabhāva has no separate substance of its own; it is simply within paratantrasvabhāva, freed from the parikalpa and vikalpa of nāmalakṣaṇa and phenomenal marks, the tathatā realized by noble wisdom within oneself—this is the real substance of the dharmakāya that is pariniṣpannasvabhāva, the pure, true mind of the tathāgatagarbha nature. Therefore, one must rely on expedient means conforming to reality, observing free from conceptual thought, in order to be able to awaken and enter it. Hence the Mahāyāna Treatise states: "Concerning pariniṣpannasvabhāva, one should know that four pure dharmas are expounded: first, purity of intrinsic nature, which refers to tathatā, the limit of reality, the paramārtha dharmadhātu; second, purity free from defilement, which refers to this very nature being freed from all hindrances and defilements; third, purity of attaining this path, which refers to all pāramitās and bodhipakṣa dharmas; fourth, purity of generating this realm, which refers to the sublime true Dharma teaching of the supreme vehicle. These four dharmas completely encompass all pure dharmas without remainder."
