3.66

It means that śrāvakas clearly see impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness among sentient beings in the three realms, as well as the realm of the four truths; weary of and abandoning the five desires, they lodge their minds in quietude, and regarding the unruined external marks of individual or common characteristics in the aggregates, realms, and bases, they have not yet obtained the emptiness of dharmas, but have only obtained the wisdom of the emptiness of persons. Because they know this as it truly is, the mind abides in one object; having abided in one object, they thereupon attain the dhyānas, the eight liberations, the three samādhi doors, the eight limbs of the noble path, and the four fruits of asceticism, and attain liberation. They only sever manifest afflictions, but have not severed habit afflictions; they only sever the saṃsāra of delimited portions, but have not left behind the saṃsāra of inconceivable transformation; therefore it is called the realm and marks of the noble wisdom of personal realization of the śrāvaka vehicle.
