This clarifies the practice of the four authentic cultivations, accomplishing the above four kinds of Dharma-gates. That is to say, the practice of observing the manifestation of one's own mind accomplishes the above gate of the emptiness of all phenomena. The practice of being far removed from views of arising, abiding, and ceasing accomplishes the above Dharma-gate of non-arising. The practice of skillfully knowing that external phenomena lack intrinsic nature accomplishes the above Dharma-gate of having no intrinsic nature. The practice of exclusively seeking the noble wisdom of inner realization accomplishes the above non-dual gate. This is called a bodhisattva accomplishing the four dharmas and attaining the practitioner's great authentic skillful means; therefore [the sūtra] exhorts: 'You should diligently practice and train in this.'
