4.153

Above, the transformation of the habitual tendencies of the intrinsic nature of all consciousnesses was called nirvāṇa. However, the intrinsic nature of all consciousnesses belongs to ordinary beings; hence it explains that ordinary beings cling to the intrinsic nature of all consciousnesses and give rise to two kinds of characteristics of intrinsic nature. Because the habitual tendencies of false conceptualization and verbal expression have been uninterrupted since beginningless time, they cling to the characteristic of the intrinsic nature of verbal expression; not knowing that all phenomena arise from their own mind, they see all phenomena of the aggregates, realms, and bases with particular and common characteristics, and therefore cling to the characteristic of the intrinsic nature of phenomena.
