This means that followers of the two vehicles relish the bliss of samādhi and conceive it to be nirvāṇa. If they can extinguish that cognitive hindrance and the vāsanā of karma, awaken to the identity of phenomena as without self, and cross over the inconceivable death of transformation, only then will they be freed from intoxication by samādhi and awaken from the inferior uncontaminated samādhi. Once awakened, they personally know that they dwell in a stage with remainder, initiate ever-higher progress, practice according with reality, fully complete all merits, and likewise obtain the Tathāgata's sovereign dharmakāya.
