This says that although eighth-stage bodhisattvas see the unarisen samādhi, with joy in their original vows and the fulfillment of great pity and compassion, they fulfill the ten great vows to liberate sentient beings, and do not realize the unarisen as [their final] nirvāṇa. Yet it is not that they do not give rise to the proper causes of the Buddha-dharma of the factors of bodhi; according with wisdom, they practice in accordance with reality, and in this way they are able to enter the Tathāgata stage.
