As the previous chapter stated, 'Śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas grasp at nirvāṇa and seek their own happiness; cultivating the six pāramitās, they do not attain Buddhahood.' Why? Among those of indeterminate lineage, it is said, 'Śrāvakas abiding in the bliss of samādhi will ultimately attain the body of the Tathāgata.'
