Language
Classical Chinese

1.244

"Commander" (gōngcáo) is the title of an official in charge. "Followers" refers to the attendants of the commander. If a superior strictly leads his subordinates, the subordinates will naturally stand in awe; hence the mind is compared to the commander, and lustful desires are compared to the followers. If one purifies one's own mind, how could lustful desires arise?
