Language
Classical Chinese

1.259

Hearing the mournful voice, the Buddha wished to offer instruction and guidance, so he asked what he used to do when at home. Since he replied that he played the lute, the Buddha used the tightness and slackness of the lute strings as an analogy. Practitioners must ensure that idle thoughts do not arise and that body and mind remain empty and tranquil; then they will naturally be harmonious and attain the fruits of the Way.
