The body of a sentient being is entirely formed by the provisional combination of the four great elements to constitute its form, which furthermore is borrowed by an empty name. Earth, water, fire, and wind are called the four great elements. To speak of the essentials: bones, flesh, hair, and fur are earth; saliva, vital essence, and blood are water; warmth is fire; and the movement of the four limbs and hundred vessels is wind. Each through a provisional name constitutes this illusory body. If one contemplates it thoroughly, what is 'I'? Lodging temporarily in this fleeting world, it vanishes in an instant, entirely like an illusory dream.
