The *Kaiyuan Era Catalogue of Buddhist Teachings* (*Kaiyuan shijiao mulu*) states: "The śramaṇa Buddhatrāta, in Chinese called Juejiu ('Enlightened Savior'), was a native of Jibin in North India. At the Baima Monastery in the Eastern Capital he translated one work of the *Sūtra of Perfect Enlightenment*, the year and month not recorded." The *Continuation of the Illustrated Record of Past and Present Scripture Translations* and the *Zhenyuan Catalogue* state the same. The commentary by Dharma Master Daoquan of Zanghai Monastery in the Northern Capital also states: "The Tripiṭaka Master Buddhatrāta of Kaśmīra, in the second year of Changshou (the guisi year of the Jupiter cycle [693 CE]), carrying the Sanskrit text, newly arrived at the Divine Capital, and at Baima Monastery translated two fascicles, comprising twenty-eight sheets in total. The venerable masters who translated the words, recorded with the brush, verified the meaning, and polished the prose are fully detailed in a separate catalogue."
