然證信序諸經皆同，是阿難請問，佛令置之，亦為斷疑息諍及異邪故。然雖具六成就，今隨文便，均於廣略。總分為三：一信聞時主、二說處依真、三同體法眾。

Now, the preface establishing faith is common to all sūtras. It was requested by Ānanda and commanded by the Buddha to be placed [at the beginning], and also serves to cut off doubt, put an end to disputes, and distinguish [the teachings] from heterodox ones. Although it possesses the six fulfillments, here, following the convenience of the text, they are balanced in breadth and brevity. They are divided overall into three: first, the fulfillment of faith, hearing, time, and host; second, the place of preaching resting on the real; and third, the assembly of identical essence with the Dharma.
