This is the fulfillment of the host. The *Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra* says: "One who can destroy afflictions is called Bhagavat." That is, it corresponds to the virtue of eradication, revealing that the sūtra is preached in the dharmakāya pure land, where dharma[kāya] and sambhoga[kāya] are undivided, not being a transformation body. Thus the *Buddhagūmi-sūtra* says: "This Bhagavān is the most purely purified enlightenment, extending to the dharmadhātu, exhausting empty space, and reaching to the limits of the future." In most sūtras it is the word "Buddha", translated as "Awakened One", meaning that the mental essence is free from thought, awakening to and comprehending the nature and marks of the real and the false. Awakening possesses three meanings: self-awakening, awakening others, and the perfection of awakening. According to the *Buddhagūmi-śāstra*, it possesses ten meanings: possessing the two wisdoms, being free from the two hindrances, being able to awaken oneself to all natures and marks, and also being able to awaken all sentient beings, like awakening from a dream or like a lotus blossom opening, hence called "Buddha". If based on the *Huayan*, it speaks of ten Buddhas: the Buddha of attaining right enlightenment, the Buddha of vows, the Buddha of karmic retributions, the Buddha of maintenance, the Buddha of nirvāṇa, the Buddha of the dharmadhātu, the Buddha of mind, the Buddha of samādhi, the Buddha of intrinsic nature, and the Buddha of conforming to wishes. If pointing out its essence, it is perfect enlightenment, as explained in the title.
