佛本是而勤修、惑元無而須斷，無軌可則、無迹可依，必須離相明師觸向曉喻，故令親近、盡命亡軀等。

Although the Buddha is fundamentally what one is, one must cultivate diligently; although delusion is originally non-existent, it must be severed. Having no path to emulate and no traces to follow, one must rely on an enlightened master free of characteristics to instruct and guide one at every turn; hence it enjoins approaching them, giving one's life and casting away one's body, and so on.
