既蒙許說，願樂欲聞。潔己虛心、收視反聽而寂默也。讚許佇聽之文，下十一段皆同。此釋四正說，下十段文皆有其二：初長行、後偈諷。今初分四：一標示真宗、二推窮妄宰、三釋成因地、四結牒問辭。一中又二：初明本有覺心、後明悟則成佛。初中又二：一、示本體。

Having received permission to have it explained, they wished and took pleasure in hearing it. Purifying themselves and emptying their minds, withdrawing their gaze and listening inward, they were calm and silent. The passages praising permission and waiting to listen are all the same in the eleven sections below. Here, explaining [the first of] the four, the actual exposition, the ten passages below all have two parts: first, the prose; second, the verses. Now the first has four parts: 1. indicating the true doctrine; 2. thoroughly examining the illusory master; 3. explaining and establishing the causal stage; 4. concluding and repeating the words of the question. In the first part there are also two: first, clarifying the originally existent enlightened mind; second, clarifying that awakening is becoming a buddha. In the first part there are also two: 1. showing the original essence.
