生一故也。初小、次二不了，後唯一乘為了。《法華》等云云。

[Dharma-nature holds] that sentient beings are of one [nature]: first Hinayāna, next the two [vehicles] are provisional, and finally only the One Vehicle is definitive, as stated in the Lotus Sūtra and elsewhere.
