四大和合成於一色，於此色上方有六根。離此色身，根元無體，各分四大。色尚不存，竅穴六根更何依附？

The four great elements combine to form a single physical form, and upon this physical form the six sense faculties only then exist. Apart from this physical form, the faculties originally have no substance; each is divided among the four great elements. When physical form does not even exist, to what else could the apertures and the six sense faculties attach?
