還如前七段歷諸法門。經恐文繁，略標首末，義兼中間，故云乃至。後段乃至之言亦例此知。

This again, as in the preceding seven sections, runs through all the Dharma-doors. Fearing that the text would be verbose, the sūtra briefly marks the beginning and the end, with the sense subsuming what lies between; thus it says, "and so forth." The phrase "and so forth" in the subsequent sections should likewise be understood by this analogy.
