正緣也。善能知真識妄、知病識藥，故初心便令求者。文殊告善財云：「親近供養諸善知識，是具一切智最初因緣。」故《光讚般若經》云：「欲學六波羅蜜者，當與真善知識相隨，常當承事。」

The primary condition. Because [such a friend] is well able to know the real and recognize the unreal, and know the disease and recognize the medicine, beginners are immediately told to seek one. Mañjuśrī told Sudhana: "Drawing near and making offerings to good spiritual friends is the foremost cause and condition for possessing all knowledge." Therefore the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra says: "Those who wish to study the six pāramitās should follow true spiritual friends and constantly attend upon them."
