Pointing to the substance to refute it. The nature of perfect enlightenment is unconstructed; how could contrivance tally with it? If one realizes that the enlightened nature is fundamentally perfect, there is no need to stir up thoughts to seek benefit. Where thoughts are not stirred, one directly accords with the enlightened mind. When according with the enlightened mind, all illusions are naturally absent. Once all illusions are gone, what is done will correspond; even piling up dirt and gathering sand will all achieve the Buddha path. Thus, regarding the various practices mentioned above, when conditions and ability allow, just perform them, applying remedies according to the illness, without following delusive thoughts. Only let delusions be exhausted, and the nature will naturally open into brightness. Ceasing is bodhi; how could it be obtained from outside?
