「『今我敬請，不依聲聞，當與十方如來及大菩薩，三月安居，為修菩薩無上妙覺大因緣故，不繫徒眾。』」

"‘Now I respectfully request, not relying on the śrāvakas, that I shall dwell for the three months of retreat together with the Tathāgatas and great bodhisattvas of the ten directions, in order to cultivate the great causal conditions of the bodhisattva's unsurpassable, marvelous enlightenment, unattached to an assembly of disciples.’"
