然正宗分中但問所詮法義，法義雖已圓備，凡心難可任持，聞時令會分明，過後恐還遺忘，事須持教，以教貫穿。文既不遺，隨文解義，依義起觀，方成真正修行。故此問經教也。

In the main section, only the doctrinal meaning expressed was questioned. Although the doctrinal meaning was already complete, the ordinary mind is hard to maintain; when heard, it brings clear understanding, but afterwards one fears forgetting it again. One must uphold the teaching, using the teaching to string it together. When the text is not forgotten, one understands the meaning according to the text and arouses contemplation based on the meaning; only then does it become true cultivation. Therefore, this asks about the sūtra teaching.
