作是語已，五體投地。如是三請，終而復始。爾時，世尊告賢善首菩薩言：「善哉！善哉！善男子！汝等乃能為諸菩薩及末世眾生，問於如來如是經教功德名字。汝今諦聽，當為汝說。」時，賢善首菩薩奉教歡喜，及諸大眾默然而聽。

Having spoken these words, he threw his five limbs to the ground. In this manner he made three requests, from beginning to end. At that time, the Bhagavat said to Bhadraśrībodhisattva: "Good indeed! Good indeed! Good sons, you are truly able, for the sake of the bodhisattvas and sentient beings of the degenerate age, to ask the Tathāgata about the merits and names of such a sūtra-teaching. Listen closely now, and I shall expound it for you." Then Bhadraśrībodhisattva rejoiced at receiving the instruction, and the great assembly listened in silence.
