二、答修悲智。既識輪迴之病，用心免落異宗，即須依解修行，速求證入。然菩薩修行不出悲、智二利，故須明之。前問中先智後悲，今答則先悲後智，意表即智之悲、即悲之智，無先無後，故互明之。文中二：初、悲。

Second, the answer regarding the cultivation of compassion and wisdom. Having recognized the disease of saṃsāra and applied one's mind so as to avoid falling into divergent doctrines, one must immediately cultivate practice in accordance with understanding, swiftly seeking realization and entry. However, a bodhisattva's cultivation does not go beyond the two benefits of compassion and wisdom; hence they must be clarified. In the previous question, wisdom came first and compassion after; now in the answer, compassion comes first and wisdom after. This is intended to express that compassion is none other than wisdom, and wisdom is none other than compassion—neither precedes the other; thus they are elucidated alternately. Within the text there are two parts: first, compassion.
