眾生無邊誓願度故，即從空入假成大悲。惑病既多，方藥非一，若無方便，少湯添水，恐落愛見大悲，故須問也。

Because of 'sentient beings are boundless, I vow to deliver them,' entering provisionality from emptiness accomplishes great compassion. Since afflictive illnesses are many, remedies are not single; if there were no expedients, like adding a little warm water to boiling soup, there is fear of falling into great compassion mixed with affection and views; hence one must ask.
