「若諸菩薩以變化力無礙作用（幻）斷煩惱故（寂），安住至靜（靜也），此菩薩者，名先修三摩鉢提、中修禪那、後修奢摩他。」
"If these bodhisattvas, through the power of transformation, [display] unhindered functions (illusion) to sever afflictions (quiescence), and dwell peacefully in utmost stillness (stillness), this bodhisattva is said to cultivate samāpatti first, dhyāna in the middle, and śamatha last."
