雖能除妄而不自除故不自見，不自見故猶如命根。如命根者，兼取相續不斷之義。

Although it can eliminate delusion, it does not eliminate itself; hence it does not see itself. Because it does not see itself, it is just like the life-faculty. Being like the life-faculty also takes the meaning of unbroken continuity.
